It was second only to the 11th Gen Core i5 Asus in CrXPRT 2 and PCMark for Android, and it took the gold medal in Basemark Web (though all the contenders, except the lowly, Celeron-based Spin 311, acquitted themselves ably). Opening multiple tabs and playing videos didn't faze it. The Lenovo's Core i3-1115G4 processor has only two cores instead of four or more, but it proved quite perky. The screen bezels are medium-thin there's just a bit of flex if you grasp their corners or mash the keyboard deck. While that one's aluminum lid and ABS plastic bottom were Graphite Gray, the new unit is a handsome dark shade called Abyss Blue. We reviewed a model with a 10th Generation Core i3, half the RAM, and eMMC storage in July 2020. The Flex 5 is a convertible laptop with a 13.3-inch touch screen. (It was even nicer when Costco took $100 off as we started this review, but unfortunately the sale has ended.) Only a ho-hum display panel keeps it from a Editors' Choice recommendation you still might want to leverage that price-club membership if that sale drops again.
